Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

interference with guardianship

my exhusband has taken my adult special needs son whom I have legal guradianship over. He has him in another state and I now am having a probate hearing to move my guardianship from Maine to Georgia. My ex has been advised and still refuses to return our son nor does he intend to bring him to the hearing. He has also sent legal papers to depose me, my husband who is also legal guardian and my mother who has nothing to do with this. I have not had funds to hire attorneys to fighthim and the Florida authorities treat me as if I am the criminal. Do I have to respond to his attorneys questions since a judge did not order any depositions. This probate hearing is just to transfer my guardianship.

Re: interference with guardianship

I understand that funds may be tight right now, but by representing yourself, which you have the right to do, you may be setting yourself up for disastrous results, since you know neither the substantive law (i.e., "the law") or legal procedure. At least consult with a local attorney.
