Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Legality of will

My friend is wanting to have a will that gives all his property to his children (not by current wife). Can he use a ''free'' will off the internet and it be legal? How would he get it probated? What legal steps does he need to take to secure his properties for his children? His current wife owns her own property and has 2 sons by a different husband. He wants to make sure his ''natural children'' receives all his properties and monies.

Re: Legality of will

There is no way to say if a will found on the internet would be legal. Some may be. Some won't be. But in a complex case like you describe, with blended families, if he actually wants to make sure things happen the way he wants them to, he needs a lawyer. Some documents in addition to a will may be appropriate to carry out his wishes.

I am in agreement with Mr. Ashman, assistance from an attorney is most likely needed here.
