List of assets to be disbursed

One of my siblings recently died and left the estate to a friend who is a non family member. We believe we may have cause to contest the will but we are not sure we want to. Is there any way to get a list of the assets that are a part of the estate? We don't believe there is any property, but we are wondering about life insurance and other assets such as bank accounts.

The first (and maybe the only place) to check is the Probate Court in the county in which your sibling was a resident at the time of his/her death.
