i would have to see the particular power of attorney - there may be a section in there called termination or something, so read it. Usually, a power of attorney lasts for the lifetime of the principal (person who makes the power of attorney) and ends at death or until revoked by the principal. The exceptions would be if this is a limited power of attorney in which case it might end when the task is accomplished or when the special purpose ends (for example, military powers of attorney for service men and women last only while the service member is deployed overseas and end when they are back at home).
