Medicare recovery

If a person dies in a nursing home and has a life insurance policy can medicare claim the policy as recovery for time in hospital?

It depends upon the Medicaid recovery rules of the state where the Medicaid recipient lives. Usually the cash value of a whole life policy will disqualify a recipient, unless the face is less than $5000.00.
