I don't know what you mean. Powers of attorney are between the living and end at death. Assuming your mother is alive and mentallycompetent, has she given you a power of attorney over finances, health or both?

Power of attorney over finances allows you to deal with creditors of your mother or in any way handle her property (whether it is real or personal). I would need to see the power of attorney to more specifically see what it says, but typically, an agent will be able to correspond with a creditor. As agent, you would be able, for example, to have the creditors contact you and you would be able to resolve the debt on your mother's behalf. If you paid a debt, you would use your mother's money, not yours. You are not personally liable for any of her debts unless you sign something which otherwise obligates you.
