Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Power of Attorney

I have a nephew who gave his sister POA. He is now in jail. My mother died and left him 6.66% of her house. I, his aunt, bought his share from him. His sister, who has POA, called me and told me the transaction was null and void. The POA has not been filed in Superior Court. Have I just lost my money?

Re: Power of Attorney

Ordinarily, just because I give someone a POA that does not mean that I cannot continue to conduct my business any way I please. Consult with a local attorney to review the POA.
