Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia
Probate in Solemn Form
I'm am probating the estate of my mother without the use of an attorney. I know that the heirs are the ones who would inherit if she had died intestate. She has a will. My brother is deceased. Am I obligated to serve his family with probate papers, or are just the remaining sisters and brother considered her heirs now. Do the forms the heirs have to sign have to be sent certified mail or can they go out regular mail.

As I think you already understand, you have undertaken something as a layperson and may be in over your head. Consult with a local attorney.

Your question tells me you badly need counsel, as you are unfamiliar with who to serve and why. In fact there are also better answers for service than either choice that you mentioned.
