Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Probating a will

My Mother died 2 1/2 years ago and she left a will, however, it has not been probated. I am her only child and sole survivor, how can I probate the will without incurring great too great expense? Her estate consists of a modest real estate holding.

Re: Probating a will

In order to ever sell or transfer the property, you will have to probate the will. The will should be probated in the county where she last lived. My guess is that you re-located ato Georgia and she lived in New York. It will probably be unnecessary for you to return to New York to probate the will.

Let me know if I can be of assistance.
