Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

I have a revocable trust in Kansas where my husband and I created it. I am moving to Georgia and was told their laws might differ than KS when it comes to NFA Laws so the ATF suggested I should create a new trust when I arrive in GA.

My husband is deployed to Iraq for a year and I hold his Power of Attorney. If I create a trust can it be notarized by me with his POA if I sign for him? My friend had his father do this while in the Army but I wanted to ask here in case a Notary gives me a hard time. I will get a GA ID card there but since he is Military he doesn't have to ever change his so want to make sure this will work. We didn't need a KS ID to create our Trust here since we are Army and DoD Id holders.

I doubt if there will be any need to change your revocable trust. It would be best if you paid someone to look over it and see if there are any amendments that might be needed. If your power of attorney gives you the power to create trusts for him you should be ok.

I appreciate your husband's service as well as yours. The non-military public does not appreciate the sacrifices that the spouses have to make.
