Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

help

In the state of georgia do we have to have to have our will done by an attorney or can we do it ourselves and have it notorized we have heard both ways. we have a will written in another state and have been told this is no longer legal is that true.

In Georgia, you do not have to consult an attorney to do your will. Wills done in other States may be valid in Georgia.

Whether the will you prepare yourself, or whether the will done in another State, is valid - those are questions relating to the document itself.

Those questions can only be answered by an attorney looking at the document and rendering his or her opinion. I urge you to seek the advice of an attorney on these questions.
