Step dad is dying. My mother has dementia and can not handle disposition of remains and funeral arrangements when he passes away. As her Durable Power of attorney, can I use my powers to assume those duties for my mother?

It depends on what her power of attorney says which will require you to read or have an attorney read for you. You can only manage things covered by the power of attorney
