Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Georgia

Stepmother's will

My father remarried in 1963 when my brother and I were still teenagers. My father and stepmother both made out wills one year after they married. After 40 years when he died his will stated his estate go to my stepmother if she survived him and us boys if not. She passed away this year and having no children herself, we learned her will was to go to a now deceased sister who had an adopted son. My brother and I had a great relationship with our stepmother, caring for her to the end. Now we understand we have no rights to the estate. Do we any legal recourse?

Re: Stepmother's will

Based on what you have stated, the property probably goes to the adopted son. However, the documents need to be carefully read. Consult with a local attorney.
