Does a will have to be filed w/ local court in GA regardless of whether you prob

I have been named in a will as co-executor with the decedent's spouse. Do I need to file the will with the probate court by a certain time period (I understand this can/ may be a wholly separate process from probating the will) And what exactly is the ''filing'' process? Thank you very much

The person holding the will needs to file it ASAP, and file for probate of the will.
