will vs. a trust

What is the difference between a will and a trust? I own a home and I have a partner that I would want to have ownership of the house if anything happened to me.

A will is your way of saying, after your death, who gets what. A trust is something you set up in life for whatever purpose. You should do a will leaving your property to your partner.
