If a will has been written on, with the intent of changes, but not yet processed at the attorney's office, is the will still authentic?

As I am sure your attorney has told you, ANY mark or change on a will (other than the signatures) voids a will. So once that is done, the will is void. A new will is not valid until it is signed and witnessed. So one never would mark on an existing will to make changes.
