Most executors charge no fee. Under Georgia law, unless the will specifies a fee, an executor can, in addition to recovering expenses, charge 2.5% of what goes into the estate and 2.5% of what goes out (with some exceptions).

The executor is entitled to 2 1/2 per cent of moneys collected plus 2 1/2 per cent of moneys disbursed. Effectively, this almost always results in a 5 per cent fee.
