Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia

2 weeks ago we had a snow fall that shut down roads due to ice. I am a member of mgt at my job so I had to report to work. i fell in the parking lot at work on a patch of ice and ended up getting 3 staples in my head. My work is refusing to pay. Am I eligible for workmans comp?

Yes. You have an employer with oatmeal for brains to not know that. Report the business to state board of worker's compensation and consider getting a worker's compensation lawyer.

Yes, you are eligible for workers' compensation. Often, an employer will refuse to pay with the hope the injured employee will pay the bills out-of-pocket or use their health insurance. Find out who your employer's workers' compensation carrier is and then submit the bills to them. If they refuse to pay, you will likely have to file a hearing request (Board Form WC-14) with the State Board of Workers' Compensation (you can access all of the forms through the State Board's website). If you file a hearing request, your case will be assigned to a judge and a court date will be set. The insurer will get their attorney involved. Hopefully just filing the hearing request will be enough to get the insurer to pay the bills. Good luck.
