If your physician has indicated that you have restrictions and limitations due to your injury, you should not be performing your regular job duties. Get your restrictions on paper and bring it to work with you to show your supervisor. If they are still requiring you to perform work outside of your restrictions and limitations, I would report it to the highest level possible and tell your physician. If nothing is still being done, you may want to stop working and seek benefits. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any assistance with your claim. Good luck.

One of the first things that you should do is consult one-on-one with an attorney. I am surprised that a doctor would find you capable of performing your full-duty job when you have a rotator cuff tear, causing you not to be able to move your arm after a day of work. You will probably want to speak to an attorney about arranging to see a new doctor, and possibly getting some light-duty work to do. Your employer should have offered you a choice of doctors from a list of 6 doctors they are supposed to post at your worksite. If they did not, ask them if they have a list you can choose from. If you chose your current doctor from the posted panel of physicians, and would like to see a new doctor, you have a one-time right to change to a different doctor on the panel.
If you have already been out of work for more than one week because of your injury, you may also be eligible to receive some workers' compensation disability benefits as a result of the injury.
If I can help you in any way, please let me know. My e-mail address is [email protected], and my website is http://www.parkerlaw.org. If you live somewhere outside the Atlanta metro area, and need any help finding a workers' compensation attorney near your home, I would also be glad to point you in the right direction.
