Re: covered injuries

Tough question. Generally, an injury caused by an accident arising out of and in the course of one's employment is covered under Georgia law. This, of course, includes things like back injuries and shoulder injuries caused by either a traumatic incident or long-term cumulative trauma. It can also include, among other things, hernias, heart attacks, strokes, hearing loss, and psychological conditions.

Occupational diseases, such as problems related to long-term expsoure to asbestos, are also covered by workers' compensation.

Due to some exceptions, however, there are many facts that are needed in order to evalate whether a claim would be covered under workers' compensation law. If you are uncertain whether you may have a workers' compensation claim, I would certainly recommend that you consult with an attorney.
