Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia
Settlement
I received a settlement check for my injury, I would like to find out if when this check is cashed does that now keep my employer from being resposible for my work related injury or are they held responsible for 2 yrs. after last doctor's visit?

Re: Settlement
If you settle your claim and accept the settlement money, you have agreed to drop any additional claims for benefits against your employer. Once you accept the money, you cannot come back and try to get additional benefits or medical care (unless it was part of the settlement agreement). If you are not ready to do that, you might not want to cash the check and go through with the settlement.
