Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia
I have had surgery on both hands, carpal tunnel release. All I want is to be paid for the days that I missed after surgery, the 1st surgery was on July 1 and I missed 2 days work, the 2nd surgery was on October 19th, I missed 4 days. They are paying for 1 day. If the injury was caused from my work why do I not get these days paid?

Your employer does not have to pay for the first seven days of disability unless/until you are disabled for 21 consecutive days. Compensation for the first 7 days of disability becomes due on the 21st consecutive day. In addition to temporary total disability benefits, you may also be entitled to compensation for permanent partial disability. The doctor who performed your surgery should provide you with a disability rating from which your permanent partial disability benefits will be calculated.
