Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia
termination while out
I have received a letter from my employer stating that he is terminating my employment, while I am out on a WC claim. Is this allowed by Georgia law? I have only been unable to work for about 3 months.

Re: termination while out
Unfortunately your employer can terminate your employment with them even if you are out on workers compensation. However, that does not end their obligation to provide you with workers compensation benefits, including medical care and indemnity benefits (if you remain disabled). If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me. Good luck.
