Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia

workmans comp

I had a back injury and sprained my lower back. The wc dr. put me on light duty put the employer would not accommodate the light duty. I ended up having to go home and now I cant go back due to a point system. So I ended up loosing my job. I was wondering if they will still pay my dr bills, and physical therapy bill? Thank You

Re: workmans comp

To answer your question, yes, your employer should continue to pay for your medical bills related to your on-the-job injury even though you no longer work there.

If your employer could not accomodate your light-duty job restrictions and sent you home, you should have begun receiving temporary total disability benefits. If you did not begin receiving those benefits, you will definitely want to consult with a workers' compensation attorney, who may be able to help you obtain income benefits for the time period that you have been unable to work due to your injury.
