Legal Question in Workers Comp in Georgia
i was out on workmans comp because i fell at work and broke my hip. my first day back at work i fell because someone spilled a bottle of rubbing alcohol didn't get it up and i slipped in it. my employer sent me for a drug test, and i failed it.i had prescription drugs in my system, which i had prescriptions for (i had 2 hip replacements in the past six months). i had to send the drug testing place a copy of my prescription history from my pharmacy, and it showed that i had a legal prescription for the medicine in my system. my job will not allow me to return to work until i give them copies of my medical records. is that legal? can they do that?
