Legal Question in Business Law in Germany
Teach abroad scam
My friend and I recently got involved with an online teach abroad company called teach-abroad.org. They promised us a placement in a country to teach english for only a small appplication and placement fee. We didn't have to send money until they sent us an entire outline of a position they found for us. After they found one we each sent $150. Then they sent us cotnracts to sign that had all of this information and we had to send those along with a placement fee ($350) that included the visa fee. We had to wire the money to a bank account in Germany and we have all of the information and receipts for that. We also have all of their emails they have sent us. They have not gotten back to us in about 6 weeks after we sent out last fee. It is for sure a scam, and I was wondering if there was any action we could take. Or is it not possible because it is all on the internet and all of their telephone number and other things are not real? Thank you very much for your time.

Re: Teach abroad scam
Based on the fact that a German bank accountwas used it should be possible to track them down. It willbe not inexpensive to research all the details and finally sue the people. You should estimated court and attonrey fees of about $ 2,500. If you want to go ahead let us konw. We have a partner office in Germany, Dsseldorf.
