Legal Question in Immigration Law in Germany

I am an american citizen. My father (first active duty, then reservist)died when i was seven(1990). I am now 30, living in germany expecting my first baby (not married). What exception to policy excists in order for my child to become a us citizen? since my 14th birthday I have traveled 4times to the US. Due to the fact that my father died early, we did not spend as much time in US. Thanks for your answer.

Hello:

Derivative Citizenship

In some cases, people are U.S. Citizens and do not know it. In this case, it is possible for us to file what is known as a Derivative Citizenship Petition. It is a petition that if approved, will give proof of U.S. Citizenship. There is a significant amount of evidence that would be required for this type of petition, but if done properly, there is a reasonable chance of success.

Much will depend upon legitimation.
