Legal Question in Immigration Law in Germany

Confusion about my citizenship

I was born in Germany to a german mother and a american father. instead of getting me an american birth certificate i recieved a green card. i am now 20 years old and i am a american citizen by right but i dont think i should have to go through the naturalization process. i have my german birth cerificate and my fathers american birth certificate. i also have my social security card and all his information including my parents marriage and divorce papers. my father was a citizen of the us before i was born since he was born. i dont know where to turn or what to do. can someone give me advice about how to go about this?

Re: Confusion about my citizenship

In order to determine whether you acquired U.S. citizenship automatically at birth, we would need to know your date of birth and your father's history in the U.S.
