You should be able to obtain all the information that you require from the US Patent & Trademark Office - web site www.uspto.gov

While state registrations are useful for wholly intra-state business, a federal registration provides protection nationwide. We handle these if you are interested in retaining U.S. counsel. The filing fees are $325 per mark per class; the basic legal fee we charge depends on the situation, but it is generally less than $500. A prefiling search is also usually useful. The total cost is usually under $1000.

You will want to engage a US attorney conversant with the special issues involved with registration of non-US trademarks. There is in fact a special section of the federal trademark law relating to such circumstances. This calls for expertise that many US trademark lawyers do not have, so be cautious in your selection.
The federal registration process is quite lengthy because our Patent and Trademark Office cannot keep up with the volume of trademarks. It is optimistic to expect a registration to issue in less than 18 months.
The filing fee of US$325.00 is per class, so a multi-class application can be much more expensive. Trademark clearance searches may also have to be run on both a logo and a word mark if your client's mark is a composite. Each such search runs roughly US$300.00.
