if you enter a self service shop and pick an item whhiles you are stil in the shop, the item fall from your hand and explodes who is liable?

Dear Sir / Madam,

In a self service shop, there are specific instructions put up that items are handled at the sole risk of the customer.

In your case, since the item fell from your hand and exploded on the ground, you are liable to pay for it.
