Bring home boyfriend from ghana

My boyfriend has lived in the united states since he was 13. He was recently deported back to ghana after living in the us for 13 years. They denied his greencard renewal because of change of laws since 9/11. How do i bring him back? Marriage? Please help

It is very important to determine what status he had prior to deportation and why he was deported. Then it might be possible to tell you what can be done to bring him back.
