Legal Question in Family Law in Guyana

If my husband and i have been married for 30 years and moved to USA and he filed for divorce in Guyana without my knowledge, can it be granted?

The Guyana laws on Divorces require that the divorce petition be served personally on you. If the petitioner husband swears that he does not know your whereabouts, he can apply to the High Court asking that personal service be dispensed with and that there be substituted service of the divorce papers on you by another method.
