General abuse on internet/unwanted email/harassment
Being harassed by alienated family member by her continued embarassing, untrue, harassing, posts to general forum. I am known in community and this is extremely painful. Earthlink, her IP) took action, (they said) again her for her harassing emails, but new internet provider, (level3.com) and MY internet provider (maui.net) are slow to act. This has been happening since August, 1999. Do I have a cause of action in civil or criminal court? This is a multi-jurisdictional issue. California and Hawaii.

You may be able to file a criminal complaint, but I don't know the law of Haawaii or criminal in general.
You can file a lawsuit in California, but finding an attorney that will take a defamation suit can be difficult.

you can sue for an injunction to stop the harassment.
