Legal Question in Construction Law in Hawaii
I have an friend that worked on a project that refered him to. Carpentry work. He is now claiming that I owe him payment for the work due to the fact that the owners did not pay him. He has an attorney that sent a letter demanding payments but I disagree with the letter and statemens made. WHat should I do? I wrote a letter back but want to cc an attorney but have no one.

You should hire an attorney to send a letter explaining why you are not legally responsible for a referral. So long as you were not the contractor nor received a referral fee you are not liable for the contractor's receipt of payment. Especially if the worker is not licensed.
