Legal Question in Construction Law in Hawaii
Prompt Payment Laws
I was assigned to do presentation on Prompt Payment Laws for the company I work for. In my research I have found that the federal law and some state laws require you to pay subcontractors with 7 days of payment from the owner. But I have always thought it was 10 days. Is there a reason for the change? Do you know of a good source of information regarding prompt payment laws?

Re: Prompt Payment Laws
For public contracts money paid to contractor must be dispersed to subcontractors within ten (10) days after receipt of the money. Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 103-10.5
