Legal Question in Construction Law in Hawaii
small claim
I am a plaintiff in small claim. a defendant was represented by an attourney and was not present in court at hearing. I live in Hilo Hawaii and lawyer flew in from Kauai island. Does a attourney have to register in a court to practice? Does he have to show any proof that he is an attourney to the court? does he have to show what documents that he legally represents defendant?

You can go to HSBA.org to see if the attorney that showed up is actively licensed in Hawaii. Other than that, attorneys have the right to just show up and make an appearance.
