Legal Question in Criminal Law in Hawaii
my boyfriend just got senteced and is currently incarcerated. He has been requesting his discovery and presentencing reports from his court appointed attorney and has been asking his attorney to file a motion for reconsideration and its been 3 months and nothing from his attorney. His attorney never went over his discovery or the presentencing report with him.HELP!!

What was your boyfriend's final offense and sentence? He should have reviewed discovery with his attorney prior to his plea. Was there a plea bargain? He should also have reviewed presentence report before sentencing. There is a time limit for a request to reconsider sentence. He should write his attorney and request that a motion be filed before time limits expire.
