Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Hawaii
reimbursment
I was in an online relationship for a year and half. I finally flew from Hawaii to Northern Michigan to go see her and to make plans to eventually move there. I returned home five days later. Upon meeting she decided she didn't want me. Over the following month we talked a lot and she convinced me to return. Her car had not had new tires in years and me thinking I would be moving there agreed to help her get new tires. The tires wound up being double what she told me. She had mentioned paying me back for them a couple times. I foolishly didn't get that in writing. I spent total over three thousand dollars on what was ultimately a complete waste of money and time. I want her to reimburse me for the tires. It was a little over four hundred dollars. I also lost two clients here at home while gone. I work as a freelance web designer and clients in Hawaii are VERY hard to find. All other expenses and gifts I'm willing to accept as loss but my question is do I have right to recieve reimbursment?

Re: reimbursment
A verbal agreement is good so long as you can prove it in court and it is regarding something that can be effectuated within 1 year (oversimplification). You can file a small claim against her in District Court Hawaii without a lawyer.
