Medical Billing
My father-in-law recently got sick and his bill is over $44K. He was visiting during that time he got sick and staying with my wife and I. He is from another country and has no job in the US. My wife petition for him 5 years ago. Is my wife and I liable to pay for his medical bills?

The only way you are liable is if you agreed to be liable by signing a consent form. The hospital cannot charge one adult for another adult's medical care, without some form of written agreement.
