Legal Question in Immigration Law in Hawaii

immigration law

I am now a U.S. citizen. I hired an immigration lawyer about 17 years ago to represent my case since I was brought to the U.S. under false pretense. My mother had good intentions but our papers were falsified. The judge allowed us to stay and we were granted green cards. I have a brother living in Hawaii who did not want to participate at the time to correct his papers. Now that I have my U.S. citizenship, is there anything that I can do for him with my new status. I want to make things right for him.

Re: immigration law

Dear Inquirer:

You may file a Family-based 4th preference petition for your brother, but this will likely take 12-50 years before a visa will become available to him; depending on his country of birth.
