Legal Question in Employment Law in Hawaii

wrongful termination

The restaurant I work for fired me for not wearing a newly-implemented uniform component (a hula skirt). I have noticed other employees not wearing the skirt even though they are required to and yet they have not been fired. There are two other people in my situation. I have been turned down for unemployment benefits. We are wondering if there is some legal action we can take against this company. The three of us are upset, have lost sleep, are depressed and are very quickly going in to debt. Is this a labor/employment issue or is it perhaps discrimination? Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
