Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Hawaii
minor damage and security deposit
My landlord has held my entire security deposit of $500 and would like me to pay him the difference for a new flat screen because I melted his flatscreen monitor in two 1-inch areas. What is my legal obligation for this superficial damage ( the monitor itself is in working condition)?

Re: minor damage and security deposit
If it is not something that can be fixed your liability is for the entire value of the monitor. If it can be fixed your liability is for the price of fixing it.
