Return immediately. Staying gone merely prolongs your agony. Seek help from JAG and turn yourself in. You are looking at possible jail time and a discharge, but the penalty will get stiffer the longer you are gone. And one day you'll try to get on an airplane and they'll run your name and you'll wind up in handcuffs, likely at a time when you least expect it. Get this taken care of now.
Re: awol.what do you do
You have to go back in order to get this resolved. If you are gone more than 30 days, the military will declare you to be a deserter and issue a warrant for your arrest. This goes into the nation-wide computer system and if have any involvement with local police, they can arrest you. Thus, if you get pulled over for speeding or missing a tail light, they can arrest and return you to the military. It is best to turn yourself in now and get this taken care of once and for all.
