Legal Question in Personal Injury in Hawaii

i was choking in a restaurant, husband performed heimlich, food popped out but restaurant employees cleaned up so fast I don't know what I choked on but I know what I was eating. Went to the emergency room, fractured rib inury and now post traumatic stress disorder. is restaurant liable for anything? they still made us pay our bill, an employee gave a bucket to throw up in but i was not vomiting, waitress offered me some sprite with lime wedges.

Sorry to hear of your ordeal. The restaurant could be liable only if your choking was somehow caused by the restaurant's negligence. This is difficult to prove especially because it is not known what particular food you were choking on although you know what foods you were eating. Even if you could identify the particular food, you would still have to prove how the restaurant was negligent.
