Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Hawaii

Add wife to Deed

I bought a house shortly before I was married to my wife. She wasn't on the loan documents so the home is recorded with my name only. How can I add her name to the deed on our home so she has legal co-ownership? Is there a form and who do I need to record this with? Am I able to do this on my own or do I need an attorney? Thank you.

Re: Add wife to Deed

You can, in theory, do the deed, notarize, and figure out what tenancy you want it in on your own but it would be much easier with an attorney. The usual fee for such a conveyance is $250.00. Give me a call at 526-0892 if you need further assistance. Aloha Jonny A. Zahaby
