Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Hawaii
Renting to Friends
we are renting to people because they needed a place to stay. we do not pay taxes on the earnings, as its used for the upkeep of the house. now we have relatives who need a place and the tenants are resisting. do we have any legal recourse to get them out other than the regular 45 day notice to move?

if your tenants are paying monthly they are on a month to month and you need only give them thirty days notice. You can file an eviction proceeding against them to insure that they move. Good luck.
