Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Hawaii

Unlicensed compensation split

Sold property as buyer's rep - Buyer said she ''mistakenly'' thought licensed but was not - I split commission prior to knowing buyer, a real estate company employee, had forfeited license. I'm getting pressure from broker to drop it. Buyer has operated since 12/2004 as licensed realtor. I don't believe her - what is the ethical thing to do? I think the company wants me to suffer for their ''oops'' - Ideas anyone?

Re: Unlicensed compensation split

I am not clear on the question. You took commission without a real estate license or someone else?

Give me a call or email me to clarify.
