Legal Question in Business Law in Idaho
i sold my resturant 2yrs ago and the population is only about 700 --my question is can i open a
cafe in the same town? ,there is no clause in my old contract saying i can't.

Any attorney will say it is very unusual to not have a non-compete in a contract of sale for a restaurant. The risk is the very one you are contemplating - the former owner opens another eating establishment, etc. Consult with a good business attorney in your area for specific advice and for a careful review of the contract.
