Criminal acts
If the police arrest someone for cocaine and after being arrested they find out its actually not cocaine but some kind of powder with mixture of other substances, should the charges be dropped? and why?

If lab tests show that no illegal substance was possessed, then there is no crime, and the charges should be dropped. If one of the substances in the mixture is illegal, then the charges should be changed to reflect whatever the illegal substance is.
