Can an ex-convict become a lawyer?

Yes, but it requires a waiver from the Bar Association, which will depend upon the nature of the felony conviction. It is doubtful that a convicted murderer or one convicted of fraud or a crime of great moral turpitude could obtain such a waiver, but since it is discretionary, one can only apply and see what happens.
